Panasonic in the Malaysian market
Panasonic is the other major Japanese brand in Malaysia and sits alongside Daikin in the premium-reliable tier. Its dealer and parts network is wide, second only to Daikin, and its inverter range is strong. Panasonic markets its nanoe air-purifying feature heavily, which is a genuine differentiator for some buyers but not a reason to overpay if you only need cooling. Reliability and parts availability are the real reasons to choose it.
Panasonic faults we see most
Panasonic inverter units, like Daikin, fail more on electronics than mechanicals: control board and sensor faults, occasionally the indoor fan motor. Codes on the display guide diagnosis. The nanoe generator on equipped models can fail without affecting cooling, so it is worth separating a cooling fault from an air-feature fault. Older non-inverter Panasonics fail on capacitors and fan motors in the usual way.
Parts in Malaysia
Panasonic parts are widely available in Malaysia, second only to Daikin, with common components stocked and quick to source. Discontinued-model parts take longer but are generally obtainable.
What to know about the Panasonic warranty
Panasonic Malaysia typically gives a longer compressor warranty and a shorter general-parts warranty, with registration usually needed for the full term. As with all brands, the warranty generally covers parts not labour after year one, and authorised service may be required during the covered period. Confirm current terms if your unit is still covered. Out of warranty, our 30-day workmanship warranty applies.
Inverter vs non-inverter, and HP sizing
Same sizing logic as any brand: 1.0HP up to about 150 sq ft, 1.5HP around 150 to 250, 2.0HP around 250 to 400, 2.5HP around 400 to 550. Panasonic inverter is worth it for high-use rooms, non-inverter for low-use. If the nanoe feature matters to you for allergies, it is only on certain models, so confirm the model has it rather than assuming.
